Ancestral Walk

(Beginner)

All adventures start with the first few steps, and the ancestral walk is a weekend gathering looking at just that.

We will take a deep dive into what our ancestors did to survive and thrive in our natural habitat, addressing and learning about methods to:

  • Build shelters from: clothing to natural, properties and values.

  • Make fire using both modern and historical methods, including fire lays and considerations.

  • Find and make water safe, and how we can achieve our bodies needs when out in nature.

  • Move and connect with nature through the ways of the ancestral hunter.

  • Rediscover a more indigenous way of approaching nature and earth roaming.

This all takes place in an amazing woodland in Suffolk, with composting toilets, eco-showers, and camping bays.

As part of this event an evening meal will be provided and dietary needs catered for, these will be prepared by the group as part of the experience.

Event costs £195, £100 deposit with the remainder payable 14 days before course starts.

Imbolc Walk

(Intermediate)

Intentionally set at the time of year which ties in with the celebration of Imbolc, an ancestral festival linked to our lands.

Imbolc symbolizes the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. The word "Imbolc" means "in the belly of the Mother," because the seeds of spring are beginning to stir in the belly of Mother Earth

This journey of self-discovery starts in the wild of the Perthshire Highlands, within a vast area historically known as Breadalbane, deep in the heart of the Scottish mainland.

The group will set off on a lengthy hike into the mountains, heading for a remote base camp, set in one of the last remaining pockets of the ancient Caledonian forest. Here you will spend 3 nights in an unforgiving winter setting, where you will have the opportunity to pressure test the skills learned during the Ancestral Walk event.

Event costs £350, £100 deposit with the remainder payable 14 days before course starts.
